Recruitment from Malaysia

Mechanical fitters for
Australian employers.

Explore Malaysian recruitment for your Australian plant or maintenance team. A useful mechanical fitter brief explains the machinery, maintenance tasks and working environment.

Make the maintenance environment clear.

The same job title can describe planned maintenance in a production plant, installation work or a shutdown assignment. Your brief should show the balance of those tasks and the equipment involved. This helps distinguish directly relevant experience from experience that would need additional training.

What to include in your recruitment brief

Plant and equipment

Identify the machinery the role supports, such as pumps, conveyors, rotating equipment or production lines. Describe the mechanical systems that are essential to the vacancy.

Maintenance scope

Set out the mix of preventive maintenance, fault finding, disassembly, repair, alignment and installation. Include how work is recorded and handed back to operations.

Site and roster

Explain the worksite, shifts, shutdown expectations, supervision and safety induction. List required tickets or licences for verification rather than assuming overseas equivalents are sufficient.

Evidence to discuss before a shortlist

Request examples of maintenance completed on comparable machinery, including the candidate’s own responsibilities. Discuss how they approached a fault, used drawings or measurements, and confirmed the result. Agree a practical assessment where appropriate, with an employer-approved assessor and criteria.

Questions for a technical interview

  • Describe a recurring mechanical fault you helped resolve and the evidence you used.
  • What alignment or measurement work have you personally carried out?
  • How do you prepare a maintenance handover and report work that remains incomplete?

Mechanical fitting experience should be assessed against the vacancy itself. It does not by itself demonstrate competence in electrical work, every plant system or a site-specific authorisation. Record the limits of the role and who will verify each requirement.

The Pansomal connection

A Malaysian starting point.

TalenTAC, which identifies Agensi Pekerjaan Pansomal Sdn Bhd as its operating business, publicly lists this trade within its Australia offering. Pansomal International is the employer and recruitment-partner enquiry website.

See TalenTAC’s published Australia offering. The listing is background evidence; current candidate availability and the scope of an engagement require confirmation.

Recruitment and employment requirements

A recruitment discussion does not establish visa eligibility or recognition of a qualification. Employers should identify who will review sponsorship, skills assessment and any licensing requirements.

Use Trades Recognition Australia’s program information as an official starting point for assessment enquiries. Obtain case-specific migration advice from an appropriately qualified adviser.

Before you enquire

Can the recruitment brief include shutdown or rotating-equipment experience?

Yes. Identify the equipment, tasks and level of independence required. Whether candidates with that background are available, and whether the proposed engagement is suitable, must be confirmed before proceeding.

What should we send first?

Send a vacancy description or use the employer checklist. Include the worksite, tasks, essential experience, headcount, pay range and intended timing. Do not send candidate identity documents with an initial enquiry.

Employer checklist prepared 14 September 2026. Assessment and employment requirements must be checked for each case.
